Pros

Great Benefits if your are able to stay long enough to be vested in the ESOP. Salary is competitive but nothing special and varies based on your contract.

Cons

Staying on a contract isn't always consistent. American Systems does a good job of putting you in for follow on jobs but the award rate of Government Contract is unpredictable.

Pros

Their HR and program managers are top rate professionals who are concerned with helping you out and getting you on board.

Cons

The company is cheap! They do not add to your 401K plan. They have a profit sharing plan but you must work there for five year to be fully vested. Health plan is expensive and next year they will only offer high deductible health care. Salary was low for ISSE (68K). Holiday hours are given out at 18 hours a quarter so you run out of Holiday hours before all Holidays are taken in the first quarter! No support from front line manager.

Pros

Small company culture where you get to know people is nice. If you are an off-site contract worker, your customer dictates how you work so that is a huge variable.

Cons

I can't speak to how it is at the headquarters, but some of the remote offices are very poorly run. Literally people have been at work and get asked by the manager "why are you at work, your contract expired?" If management were competent, any employee who is essentially losing his or her job would find out BEFOREHAND!
