Good benefits and okay salary.

Cons

I never met anyone from the company. I complained about discrimination in my workplace and was told that because my client was the government, there was nothing they could really do. After complaining I was put on a PIP and shortly after I resigned before my entire name was tarnished from the inaction of this company.

Cons

I worked at American Systems for 8 months and never met my supervisor. We spoke by phone less than once a month, and my requests for support resulted in zero action. Their MO seems to be to try to win bids, scramble to hire contractors, support them as minimally as possible, then get them out of the company before their ESOP kicks in. About the ESOP - if you leave before five years are up, all the money in your ESOP rolls back to the remaining employees, giving the long-time overhead employees a really good motivation to get you out of there, since their share value will go up when you leave.

Pros

Mid-size company so it provides for good level of involvement from senior management and corporate support staff is never too far away. Employee-owner mindset makes for a great work environment. Company personnel adhere to high ethical standards.

Cons

Very difficult to take vacation during each year. Company will pay you for unused vacation days, but an extra pay check is not as good for your mental and physical health as being able to take your earned vacations days throughout the year.
