Pros

New and very well maintained equipment. Good benefits with health, dental, and vision combined. two packages to choose from, both very good. 401K match, good co-workers. Regular routes and routines.

Cons

Ineffective management at many different levels. Human resources also ineffective. No product training, so unable to address simple customer questions with out learning on the job. Management to worker moral is lacking. No company information boards with current job postings or regular company news. Only personnel with email access are in loop of company wide events and career advancement opportunities.

Good benefits pay is okay. Good people nice environment, always other opportunities for advancement. Paid vacations and paid time off is a plus

Cons

Management could use some help. If you don't know the business you are in trouble as there is always someone looking to throw you under the bus.. So be careful you have been warned

Pros

Nice, modern corporate office. That's about all.

Cons

Successive layoffs every year since around 2018, sometimes several in a year, have reduced the IT headcount to less than 80 people, 30 of which are managers, directors or VPs. There is no more fat to trim and the latest layoffs are hitting essential personel. This is not healthy or sustainable, as someone else said. The company is relying more and more on offshore contractors but they are not as experienced or as talented as the employees being laid off nor do they have the institutional knowledge. IT is not the only department affected by the layoffs but it's where I worked so I'm more familiar with events in that area. ATD has been through two Chapter 11 Bankruptcies and most of the major tire manufacturers including Goodyear (Goodyear, Cooper, Dunlop, Mickey Thompson, etc), Bridgestone and Michelin have stopped doing business with them. Apparently some people laid off right before the last bankruptcy in October lost most of their promised severance. One of the major benefits of working at ATD was the ability to work from home but that ended with the new CEO, brought onboard in March after the company was sold during the last bankruptcy. All employees, company wide, are now required to be in the office three days a week. The office was redesigned for remote or hybrid work after covid so only VPs and some directors have permanent workspaces. Everyone else has to reserve a desk but it's temporary so there's no storage. Whatever you need to do your work has to be brought in daily and leave with you at the end of the day. I expect this policy will eventually be extended to four or five days a week. Considering the downward path they're on, I don't see how ATD can survive for more than another year or two. I expect they will either experience another bankruptcy, likely fatal, or possibly be sold and absorbed into one of the other tire distribution networks. Don't make the mistake of joining this company. You will surely regret your decision if you do.
