Pros

Paychecks were deposited on time

Cons

Horribly operated company. 2 bankruptcies in 8 years. Tried to operate as a tech company but tech “products” always failed. Laid off great employees and management has no idea on how to manage employees. Every employee incentive was taken away one by one without explanation other than “betterment of the company”. Which turned out to be “the company has yet again squandered funds away”. Pointless meetings and townhall meetings to “hear employee feedback” but no action from upper management just a bunch of note taking and promises to “get on that”. Complete joke of a company!!!

Pros

- They provide a paycheck - Great Eye Insurance

Cons

The Amount of body damage I have from working at this company is not repairable. During my 12 years at the company I tore Two shoulder Labrum's and had tweaked so many other parts, I am in constant pain. This company considers there warehouse employees and drivers to be Tire Athletes! You pick and pull and deliver tires but their corporate employees and managers have to follow a computer system that makes all warehouse employees touch a certain amount of tires a day, if not your manager will get the warehouse leads to Aggressively pursue you to quit. This is not a friendly Environment to work as Managers will get the warehouse leads to put stress on you but also turn other employees against you. They do not pay enough to deal with that type of abuse and damage you will do to your body. Once you do get hurt they'll throw you under a bus and fire you and let you deal with worker's comp who will deny your claim and you will be fighting for any medical treatment and left in debt and asking yourself was the years of service really worth it? If you feel the need to be constantly stretching through out the day because your body is so stiff and you have bad shoulder and neck problems go ahead and work at american tire, but don't do it long, I promise your body will regret it. Been out of the buisness for 7 years and my body has been wrecked before then, the amount of pain makes me regret ever staying at that company longer than six months.

Pros

You can’t get tires. The people are great

Cons

No sense of ethics. The company laid off people-promising certain severances, knowing they were going to file for bankruptcy and wouldn’t honor it. Filed for bankruptcy after the CEO left; a dreamer without the balance of an operational focus, the old CSO who came with the CEO got into criminal/legal trouble, the CFO bowed out and his replacement found a job elsewhere, the CPO and most of his organization was scrapped after him being there only a couple months and having been personally recommended by the last CPO who also left. Someone before says HR runs the show. That’s also true. People have said it’s fear-based and highly political. I can’t corroborate personally, but I will say I’ve seen major talent leave quickly, get dumped, or stay and never advance. There are good people, and good giving back initiatives but overall, terrible culture.
