Pros

Good work and willingness to grow is rewarded with advancement. The company tries to promote from within when possible. The company is willing to train those who want to learn. Coworkers are good people that I enjoy working with. I have a good supervisor who values me as a person. Those at a professional level have satisfying, challenging responsibilities. It's a family business, so management is motivated toward sustainability and building a legacy. Management is proactive in making sure the business evolves to remain relevant. Benefits package has been improving.

Cons

Manufacturing jobs are typically mundane and not in a pleasant environment. Middle managers / supervisors throughout the company are hit and miss. The worst ones have a reputation for being tyrannical. Pay typically is lagging behind, though not horribly so. Some manufacturing associates are immature and unprofessional, and the lot suffers for it.

Pros

Every job is what you make of it. If you are always late, not interested in your work, or have poor work ethic, then don't be surprised when you're shown the door. There are many great qualities about American Trim that people do not mention, but I will share a few of the top ones. -The management staff in all of the facilities are fair and forgiving. -Everyone is very family oriented, from floor level up through management. -Safety is the top level concern of everyone. There is no more important metric.

Cons

Some of the cons are not necessarily cons. Again, it's what you decide to make of it. -Some of the working hours are tough and the overtime can be overwhelming if you're not interested in overtime. -There's one in every crowd - meaning some of the people (floor level especially) can be difficult to work with as they feel they are entitled individuals that deserve some preferential treatment that they have in no way earned. This is not a reflection of the general American Trim population as I personally enjoy ALL of the folks that I work with on a daily basis. But let's be honest, we know these people exist at every job. -Break time could be a little longer, especially in the summer when it's warmer outside.
