Lies, lies and more lies

Pros

Flexible work schedule, casual dress

Cons

If you want a job, this is the place for you. Just make sure you do not give into the pressure of taking on additional responsibilities without additional compensation. Management will promise you anything to get you to do more for the same pay. Get everything in writing as well, because you simply cannot trust management. If you are looking to advance your career, look elsewhere. Either way, negotiate hard during your initial hire because you're most likely not going to go much further than that. Annual raises (~2%) and bonuses (~$200) are a slap in the face. Both of which are directly correlated with your relationship with your direct manager. Upper management could care less about their employees. Their speeches during company meetings and events are just empty words written to try to raise employee morale. Recently, they started doing more surveys to identify areas of improvement; but most employees who actually fill out the surveys are more concerned about possible repercussions to give honest opinions. How about taking a look at the turnover rate instead? Average the tenure of employees by department and report those numbers to employees. Numbers don't lie.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good, recruiter was very good.

Cons

Poor manager who did a 30 day review of me and said he had no concerns, problems, or complaints about me and I was doing a real good job. I caught a large backlog of work orders from aug 20th when I started and a lot of them were in the red and yellow colors and oct 1st I only had current months work and pms to do. Then the very next day he comes in angry with bs complaints and threatening my job telling me I should just quit now or things will get worse. Well they did he stated I need more training and I asked what kind and his reply was safety and falsely accusing me of leaving vehicles unlocked which is a lie then he tells me I have to go work in Indianapolis for a while for training. Hr told me to go there and there was no need to go to the shop I work out of and so I did and when I got there today I was given a work order for a pm when my tools are at my shop and doing pms for his shop is not safety training and he tells me to go home and come back tomorrow with my tools because he is going to “work my butt off and teach me what fleet maintenance is all about”. But cursed while saying it I live 2 hours from Indy and my vehicle uses a half of tank of gas every trip to Indy so I lost 4 hours of travel time plus 7 1/2 hours of work time and $40 -$50 worth of gas. He wanted me to work in Indy from day one and I told him no that it was to far and I’d be using half of my pay for gas alone and it’s not a financially sound thing to do. I turned down job offers in Indy and I don’t apply for jobs where I would have to travel long periods. But now I have to take my tools to Indy and work with him for training like today and he wasn’t even there. I and a few people feel that he is trying to force me to transfer to Indy or quit. I have 12 work orders right now to Indy having 212 work orders and they have approx 5 mechanics and my shop is me alone. I have lost approx $231.00 because of him today. I don’t like lying manipulative people but it seems my manager is both. Stay away from Indy while he is there. I got Bloomington caught up but I don’t know for how long. But I will not transfer to Indy by the time all is said and done I would probably only clear about $400 a week if that and running my Lincoln into the ground and I already have to get the transmission rebuilt because bands and clutches are almost worn out. The manger is a bully and is disrespectful if he is angered or up to no good it seems. Next step is labor relations board and possibly further if no one takes care of this guys problem. He refuses to give me access to ford and go online and also Mitchell’s on demand so he kind of has my hands tied behind my back when it comes to diagnostics. He says check the forums on the net and I did and he said I gave him the wrong diagnosis and asked me if I checked the forums and I said yes and everyone that had the same problem said they had to get the axle rebuilt. I hope not all managers are like this one. One of the mechanics even made the comment this morning saying “so your coming up here to work now “ and I said no I’m here for safety training only. He said oh and walked away.

I’m truly sorry this didn’t work out. As I talked to you personally, I know we did everything we could to coach, counsel and bring you along including reimbursing for your travel. The manager you’re referring to is highly regarded by both his employees and our clients. All said, we can always learn from feedback - thank you.

Pros

Good pay, but then you deal with all the horrific management. You will be treated like trash once they court you and bring you on board.

Cons

Reviews that look to good to be true are written by management. You are just a number. Horrible management especially in midland Texas. Promises made never honored. The worst medical benefits I have seen (blue cross of California ? Really in Texas?)
