Great Place To Work

Pros

Amgen has very competitive pay and benefits with the rest of the industry. In the area they are currently at, they are the top paying and best place to work.

Cons

Pay and benefits. Hard to leave the company on your own with the pay and benefits of Amgen. Upward mobility is stifled in certain job families.

Pros

This used to be a great place to work with Tony Coles, Ted Love and Kay Foster at the helm. Pablo has very lazy people skills and he is arrogant, much like an oncologist waiting (not wanting to watch) a patient die. It trickles down. The cafe is ok.

Cons

If you're not Chinese, you'll be treated slightly better than a slave. There are no rules, no GCP, no adherence to standards, no direction, no learning from mistakes made, no best practices. This is a free-for-all with a bunch of leaders that have not been held accountable. HR is useless and in on the free-for-all calling shots from who gets interviews to who gets promoted without discussions with those who will be or have been working with the personnel. No personal growth plans, no organizational structures, senior leaders don't communicate, or when they do they confuse rather than clarify issues.

No values, focused entirely on profits.

Pros

Sorry, there are no pros.

Cons

For a company supposedly dedicated to health, the culture is toxic. Staff overworked, constantly asked to "do more with less." Many of the perks of the past decade have gone away.
