      Pros

      In terms of the people as well as the work life balance it doesn't get better than working at Amgen.

      Cons

      I think the collaboration cross functionally isn't always obvious and sometimes it seems like there is alot of redundancy across the company.

      Great company but maybe not the best place for IS people

      Pros

      - Great benefits (up to 10% 401k match, ESPP 5% discount, on-site fitness centers are free, decent cafeterias, good health insurance options, dental, vision, tuition reimbursement, free financial advice, on-site health clinics...) - Very nice facilities - Benefit of knowing you help Amgen make the drugs that save people's lives - Comfortable work environment where people are pretty open, approachable and appreciative - They reimburse (depending on team) costs of certification tests if you pass

      Cons

      - IS has been outsourced to IBM. Due to various issues on both sides, the transition has been messy and people are leaving Amgen or IBM fairly often - Since people in IS are not sure of their job stability anymore, people are leaving for other companies - New changes in IS are difficult due to process issues within Amgen and IBM so things are put on hold - Most of the feedback from peers and your personal assessment is not read since reviews, merit increases and so forth are decided among managers before the feedback process starts. - ESPP discount went down from 15% to 5%. - Tuition reimbursement is harder to get but you still get 10k/yr
