Based on a well-entrenched senior management staff there is limited opportunity for growth and development. Best bet for growth opportunities lies outside the company

Amgen has changed dramatically over the past 10+ years, but remains an environment where you can pursue new ideas and innovate.

Cons

Ever-tightening budgets, controlled by micro-managing managers. Like any other large corporation, Amgen has its share of managers that demand the generation of paperwork/reports/PowerPoint slides that add no value to the actual work at hand.
