Company culture leaves much to be desired

Pros

Tons of freedom to come up with ways to solve problems without management breathing down your neck.

Cons

The company has a lot of issues with product quality, largely because they have more resources invested in hitting quotas and making money than resources devoted to fixing their dysfunctional processes. Very little formal training/professional mentoring means you're on your own a lot of the time. The Sidney facility is very cliquey, especially among certain departments. This is not a place where you get to know everyone and be part of a lot of cross-departmental team projects. Benefits are good, but salaries are low compared to industry standards. The plant is in the middle of nowhere, so there are a lot of older people that have been here 30-40 years. Most of the locals are into shooting and driving huge trucks. There's a Confederate flag hanging from a house down the road, so that should give you a hint about the area.
