Terrible management

Pros

Hearing aid technology and the free pens write really nicely.

Cons

Toxic management culture made of clueless muppets with no idea about audiology. Terrible wage and new wage structure coming will be worse. Saturday working and 6 day working weeks in new contract. Staff opinions mean nothing, particularly audiologists who know what they're talking about! "Offers" to customers aren't transparent, 241 offer is just a ploy.

Pros

There have been some good colleagues

Cons

Recent wage restructuring all staff are forced to endure horrific losses in pay due to company mismanagement. Heartless management. Bullying management culture. Death by KPI. unrealistic targets invented to reduce pay. Pay dates going to quarterly instead of monthly. Ridiculous KPIs. Most decent staff will be leaving. Very old morale. Awful lack of understanding. Zero compassion from senior management. Uncaring attitude towards staff. Lack of any form of respect.

Pros

Amplifon bullied me and pushed me out of the company last year, meaning I avoided the current mess that ex colleagues have told me about, so in a funny way they did me a favour.

Cons

The company has been on a cost cutting mission for the last few years to falsely increase profit when sales are down. This had a huge effect on the day to day tasks in branch, dressed up as 'a fantastic opportunity to re engage with your clients' - no, doing the job of the head office staff that have been cut. I ended up in branch on my own (safety alert!!) doing what had been the jobs of five people when I first started, because they had cut numbers and then didn't replace my receptionist or the other audiologist when they left simultaneously. Management resolutely ignored the fact that I was looking after two in branch case loads as well as all the home visits singlehandedly as well as all the desk and admit duties with no support when they were threatening me with formal performance review due to poor figures (shocking, given the circumstances...). They set a performance target, and despite achieving more than double what they asked for (and more than 75% of a 2 person budget by myself) they proceeded to take me to formal review. Many company policies (as well a laws) were completely ignored throughout the process. There was no point raising a grievance because I know from a friend's experience that they lie their way out of it. I raised concerns about my own mental health and receive no support. When I phoned in sick, I was not once asked what was wrong - over the course of three months. There is no concern over staff welfare at all. Management have no problem in throwing someone else under the bus to save their own skin. Since I left I have heard reports from friends of huge pay cuts, and enforcing Saturday opening. All this plus an impressive level of incompetence, which can only be getting worse as the good employees seem to be jumping ship.
