      Pros

      Rapidly changing environment as passenger rail comes out of the freight and into the modern world with accountability, policies and new technologies.

      Cons

      Very eastern oriented, needing to reapply for your job when management or structures change can be very stressful. Perceived as a way to promote friends into management.

      Pros

      Got to travel. Great benefits and retirement. Great coworkers exist but most aren't. Relatively good salary.

      Cons

      Lack of upper management support. Company takes forever to implement changes. Never felt my job is secure. Company always going through a major reorg. Huge infighting between departments, corporate versus local. Very lazy union employees. Not rewarded for extra effort or completing a task in an above average way Employees at management level constantly backstabbing and gossiping. Management by committee. Company is afraid to change Finally, the product....meaning the train experience itself is below average. The customers are charged quite a bit of money and most are dissapointed.
