Pros

Lots of interesting cutting-edge research with smart people. It's a good place to hone skills in semiconductors and silicon photonics. The laboratory has state of the art test equipment, so very hands-on. It is a place to see the entire product cycle from idea inception to production.

Cons

The fast pace of projects leads to aggressive deadlines.

Pros

Working on some of the hardest technology in the world. Tons of people and things to learn from. Great customer engagement in a growing industry. A fantastic spot to be an engineer. I have never been bored here.

Cons

As a new employee, there is a lot of new technology and information to catch up on. There's always a lot of work to get done so it can be tough to juggle priorities.

Pros

Cool brilliant coworkers. Exposure to cutting-edge tech development. PTO not bad.

Cons

Private company, absolute control by CEO. No board, investors, HR, oversight. CEO utterly disrespectful to the point of bullying. Only values employees for what they can do for him. Suspicious of employees. Never takes feedback or admits errors. Mostly male. No management interest in D&I. Low pay. EAP a joke. Crunch culture. No resources for training and growth. No career development path. Do your diligence.
