Pros
It’s exciting to be a part of a start up that every employee believes will go to the next level. Getting there has been, and will continue to be challenging, with stressful days (and sometimes weeks), but knowing that we are on track for the growth needed to go public keeps me motivated.
There’s been a lot of change, especially lately, but the current leadership has been transparent. At the end of the day, that’s what I want from our executive team and board. Tell us what’s going on, and more importantly WHY. They’ve been doing a much better job of that lately.
I’d say the best thing about working here is the people. My team is full of people that work hard, and as a team, we get things done. We don’t have slackers – they just would not survive at Anaplan. A lot of my colleagues I’d also call friends.
Cons
It’s expected that you do whatever it takes to get things done. This often means long hours and sometimes checking in on weekends.
There’s still work to be done to get alignment between departments. Sometime we get so heads down on what we’re working on, that we don’t walk across the hall to let other departments know what we’re up to.
