Pros

Privately held is strength...management is people centric and draws on long history of making tough decisions based many factors - not only the bottom line

Cons

very silo driven - information exchange is not good

Pros

Super good pay ($11+/hour), steady hours (40+ hours/week), no weekends, moderate flexibility with shifts, and if you work hard you WILL be rewarded. They provide regular breaks each day (two 10 min, one 20 min) and free Gatorade when it reaches a certain temperature in the plant.

Cons

Pretty good conditions for a factory but it can get pretty hot. It's hard work- no way to get around that. You will be very sore and tired at the end of a day (less so as the summer goes on). You will be moved around to various jobs as they need you- you're kind of their fill-in, jack of all trades as they train you...but it's good pay. The evening shift (3-11pm) is a sucker punch. I hated that shift above all else. The others are perfectly fine though. And some people strangely like the evening shift. I don't get that though.

Pros

Profit Sharing (when there actually is any) Reasonably flexible work schedule Lots of opportunity if you are a young white male who grew up in western wisconsin and went to UW Stout.

Cons

Equal opportunity is not there, especially if you are an outspoken female. If you disagree with what's being said by management you will be labeled as "not a team player" and having a "negative attitude". Management opportunities abound for people (men) as long as you do what you're told and do not challenge the status quo. It is not a company that fosters creativity and innovation, and its idea of "diversity" is hiring someone from out of state.
