Pros

Drivers are mostly great to work with. You get to travel around central Minnesota and visit all sorts of liqueur stores and see the inner workings of them all. Somewhat flexible work schedule.

Cons

Middle management is very edgy and will take out their frustration on you for the smallest of things. At first my hours were very consistent (25-50) but when winter rolls around they cut me down to 6 hours per week and still expected me to stick around.

Pros

The pay and benefits were good. The work could be challenging if you made it so.

Cons

There didn't appear to be any type of formal development planning systems in place. It was all handled individually and had to be driven by the individual employee. Except in the rare situations where someone was on the fast track and then they were mentored, put on plum assignments and moved up the organizational chart. Promotions were more tied to who someone knew ( or were related to.) , and hung out with. Rather than the work that they did.

Pros

AB still has great brands which is the reason for some continued pride in the company. Benefits are good (for now) and job cuts have slowed. Free beer and fun industry helps you get out of bed in the morning.

Cons

Since the buyout, there is no more family feeling or fun at AB. Plus InBev has a completely different business model that focuses solely on cost cutting at the expense of experienced US employees. Some unfortunate changes include: Reducing pay rates to cut cost Desire younger less expensive talent Limited promotion opportunities in US (International focused) More focus on operations than brand building Fewer celebratory events to promote the brands and boost employee camaraderie In short, many of the reasons people wanted to work for AB in the past are gone.
