It’s too easy to get a job here. Like, anyone can. You’ll be able to tell by how limited trainings there are.
Cons
Their social justice values are a complete joke here. I’ve sat in on countless meetings where I had to listen to other faculty blatantly make fun of students who had learning disabilities and challenges, neurodivergence, and had biased vendettas against students that they didn’t like. And the pay is garbage and you will be overworked. If you attempt to set a boundary, you’ll receive pressure in the form of emails making you feel guilty for not being a team player, and text messages to your private phone during off hours. They will nose into your personal affairs expecting you to tell them why you are out on leave, and constantly violate boundaries by assigning projects you aren’t qualified to successfully accomplish, expect you to travel across the country for residencies regardless of ADA status, and trade your leave time with other faculty members without telling you first. There’s a reason there have been about 20 faculty members who have quit in the past year.
