Pros

I worked at the WHQ but only for a few months. Friendly co workers and managers. It was a technical support position and the hours were good. Paid holidays and weekends because it was hourly. Benifits were good.

Cons

Room for growth was limited in my field because Applebees isn't in the technology area. Support was 24 7 so you had to work at least one night shift every couple of months. Pay could have been better. Additionally you had to work a week at one of the stores to see how one is run. It was a waste of my time because I would much rather get started on my ACTUAL job.

Pros

I picked Applebee's as a job to make some income while going to school full time and waiting to hear from a job in my field of study, and they are generally pretty good about not overloading me. Every Applebee's I've been in all the employees usually get along pretty well, so it makes it a better work environment. I've found that you usually don't have any problems with management as long as you do your job and perform it correctly. There is opportunity for growth, if you show the interest.

Cons

One of the downsides would be the scheduling. A lot of times the schedule basically gets copied over from week to week, with little to no change, which sometimes leads to one person closing the whole weekend, while the other gets off a lot earlier. I've also found that it's very difficult to get put on morning shift unless you've been there forever. They usually are the ones who get the most desireable schedule. Some of the extra work or special cleaning details can be unrealistic when employee hours are cut, so there is 1/2 the people there to do the work. Communication isn't very good at times. New ways of doing things don't really get spread to all those involved like they should. There is a bit of inconsistency between the management's rules or expectations from one to another, but it seems like they are trying to fix that.

Pros

There is room to advance in the company, if that is your goal. if you don't mind working odd hours, evenings, and late nights.

Cons

The hours are long and unpredictable. The amount of "side work" was unrealistic and probably illegal. server were required to to was dishes, when a paid dishwasher was not scheduled. a dishwasher was never scheduled during day shifts, servers were paid their regular wage of $2.65. while a dishwasher was paid anywhere from 8-10 per hour. Servers were also required to perform the jobs of prep cooks when they were not scheduled. Also never scheduled during the day shift, also paid between 8-10 an hour.
