Pros

Very rewarding working with my client.

Cons

I don’t even know where to start. First, I had no prior ABA experience. Never have worked in a center, wasn’t RBT certified. So started on a Monday which I just signed paperwork that day and went in home on Tuesday. All I knew was I had a nonverbal client. Had no prior Experience which is against the RBT guidelines. The program I was given was for in center so it was worthless. None of it was fit for in home. The behavior plan on the tablet was from 2018.... Let me add I also had zero Materials for the first month I was there so I had to go out and purchase my own. After a month I finally received a small basket of items that were things she mastered years ago and definitely weren’t age appropriate. The communication was absolutely terrible. Sometimes it took me reaching out 4 to 5 times if I needed something. But they would respond right away if they needed something for billing purposes. I had no background check until about a month into being in the home. Which puts the child at risk because You never know sadly. None of my references were called. I was also promised a sign on bonus for 2,000 after 90 days of working there. It was the least they could do. I purchased over half my own materials, Bought games, reinforcers, spent several hours on YouTube trying to prepare myself for the rest since I had no prior experience And was never trained, paid for my test 3 times because I kept missing the in center situations and ethics part... decided to say it was for RBTs only. Well got certified and never received and email back. Since then I have sent 2 follow ups and emailed both HR people. Have yet to hear anything back. So unethical and break about everything they say they stand for. Here is a list of just a few things in the handbook they broke. . Lack of supervision- in 95 days of working with the company I did not once receive any feedback on what I could improve on.  -I asked atleast 3 times for a model of SOAP notes as I knew mine were not what they needed to be. Never received anything.  4. Violation of several items in Employee handbook    - You will be informed by your supervisor if there are any licensing, certification or testing requirements for your job. Failure to qualify or to maintain a certification or license may be sufficient cause for discharge.  -Your suggestions and comments on any subject are important, and we encourage you to take every opportunity to discuss them with us. Your job will not be adversely affected in any way because you choose to use this procedure. -To the extent required by law, the company will inform employees whether they are eligible under the FMLA. Should an employee be eligible for FMLA leave, the company will provide them with a notice that specifies any additional information required -ABA will provide training on this Young People Protection Policy to all new staff and will strive to provide opportunities for additional training classes or events on an annual basis -The employee must be trained on that program prior to going home with the child alone.

Pros

Loved working with the kids. Most the BCBAs/BCaBAs were supportive and willing to explain or demonstrate program tasks. My wife and I both worked for the company, the branch managers were always willing to work with her school schedule and did a great job with giving days off that were requested. Most of my coworkers were supportive of each other. The head HR was very responsive and effective. The P.O.O. was receptive and proactive. I worked for the company for over three years, overall it is a good place to work.

Cons

Some new hire therapists with little to no experience were coming in making more than level 5 therapists that had been with the company for years. Therapist pay should be assessed anytime new hire pay is increased.
