      Many different divisions, technologies, job functions, relative easy to move to different jobs within the company

      Cons

      Long hour, stressful cyclic industry; no career advancement if you want work life balance; too much politics at higher management level; bureaucratic; use highly educated engineer as technician

      Pros

      - Salary is good if you are mediocre - Good place to learn about the semiconductor industry if you are a new college grad - Good place to learn to be a good engineer -- but be careful not to pick up management's bad habits - Good for networking to find your next job

      Cons

      - Salary is mediocre if you are good - Company is no longer interested in being the best in its field - "Buddy system" overwhelming in hiring, promotions and raises - A company without innovation cannot be expected to do well in this area in the future - Management penny wise/pound foolish.

      This is a good company to start out in the beginning of your career. As a new grad, you are able to get a feel and understanding how a major corporation runs.

      Cons

      Working for a major company, as a new grad may feel overwhelm with many acronyms used during meeting and communicating with people.
