It's honestly frustrating to work under managers who clearly have no business being in leadership positions. These individuals were promoted based on nothing more than good timing or the ability to “play the game,” rather than actual qualifications or leadership abilities. They lack basic skills that are essential for the role – such as integrity, the ability to inspire, and the backbone to stand up for their team.
There is a complete lack of leadership here. Instead of guiding and motivating, they’re more concerned with maintaining their position and avoiding confrontation. It's infuriating when a manager refuses to fight for their team’s well-being, including something as fundamental as raises. They don't seem to care about rewarding hard work or standing up for what’s right. Their inability to advocate for their team reflects a weak character and lack of concern for those they are supposed to lead.
Rather than being a voice for the team or pushing for necessary changes, these managers seem content with staying in their comfort zones and letting problems fester. It’s a shame that the company chose to promote people who clearly don’t have the courage or vision to lead effectively. There’s no spine to make the tough decisions or to do what’s right, and it shows in everything they do—or rather, don’t do.
It’s hard to feel motivated when you’re stuck under leadership that doesn’t have your back and lacks the vision to drive progress. Until the company decides to invest in true leadership, morale will continue to suffer.
