Pros

Flexible work schedule with weekends off. The employees are great in terms of interpersonal relationships. Most of management is great with a few left that really care about the company and its direction. New hires are often recent college graduates.

Cons

Lack of detailed new hire training and poor starting salary. Employee morale is neutral to negative and yearly salary increases are small. Poor compensation for long term employees.

Pros

Friendships with co-workers can be made through mutual suffering. Some work days are slightly better than shoveling manure, but not many. FYI: shoveling manure may pay more and does not require any academic degree.

Cons

Low starting pay. Insulting raises on the rare occasion that raises are approved by the new CEO. Witch Hunts after negative anonymous employee surveys. Survivor-style, department-wide performance evaluations. Any position that doesn't qualify for a not-so-secret bonus, isn't a position you want. It's owned and operated by the notorious Bain Capital.
