Pros
Engineering has a lower stress atmosphere relative to competitors. Developers are treated well but is highly dependent on who your manager is. Complaints from other departments are common. Very high retention rate for older engineers. Internal promotions are extremely common, working hard and talent is noticed and pays off. Much less bureaucracy than a large company.
Cons
Benefits have progressed throughout the years but cannot complete with what larger companies can offer. Unable to retain talent.

Really great benefits cheap medical extremely casual environment occasional company 'happy' hours
Cons
Employees don't seem to have functional knowledge of software. Shady business ethics Work 24/7 for salary pay, no work life balance Absolutely 0 growth opportunity, even if you provide means or show initiative of doing so. Very poor management and managerial decisions. Extremely unprofessional environment, most employees in higher positions are personal friends of eachother
