      Pros

      Working at Aptean- things move with great speed as company wants to make really fast progress with products. You find really challenging and meaningful work. Organization is growing at fast pace and opportunities for growth are there. Good cultural and sports events are organized. Nice benefits like snacks in evening.. ice cream, sandwitches, fruit chaat. Work environment is awesome with results being the only things that matter.

      Pros

      People always make it nice to work here. Except for some departments that clearly have no vibe (i.e. Finance, HR). If you know how to play your cards you can get into some pretty interesting and fun things, but you have to be likeable to do it.

      Cons

      Salary is Below market. Don't get fooled with Bonus (IT DOES NOT EXIST!) no matter what they promise. You are expected to work more than 40 hours and not have a life, so they hire young kids out of college. There is a Stupid Test you need to pass or you will not be interviewed at all. They expect you to be smart (or at least know how to take tests, I guess that is why college kids end up here a lot). If you are a manager you are the one that knows and does everything so you need to train your employees or else you will be overloaded with work. Health Benefits are the worse I have seen in 16 Years of working full time.

      A holding company backed by Venture Captial. What would you expect?

      Might be a good place for a coder to get a start.

      Cons

      What you have here is a holding company that buys up small software companies. They then try to keep the service contracts active as long as possible by using strong arm tactics on existing customers. There is no software development going on here. Just band-aids and antibiotic to keep the infection to a minimum. It's really a sad story. There is no leadership and no direction. But why would you need that in this model? It's all dollars and cents to Vista Equity Partners. No more. No less.
