Pros

If you have a very sales/pushy personality you can make a ton of money. If you don't, you will get screwed over when I comes to money. It's a business risk. If you think that's you, you can do great. If you don't see yourself being able to be pushy, don't do it.

Cons

The regionals pretend like they have your back, but if you don't make it with sales, they will stab you in the back, no pity. That was me. Don't let them read the contract to you--make sure you personally take time to read the whole thing. (I.e. I didn't know they cut your commission in half if you don't get a hundred sales). Just be careful of their sweet talking. It can be a great opportunity, and it could be something that screws you over. You just need to do a personal evaluation.

Pros

I worked as a salesman for 4 years, a Service pro for one year, and I have been an RPS for 3 years. I enjoyed the company’s culture, energy, and the pay is competitive.

Cons

After nearly 9 years with aptive, I was terminated for missing 4 google meetings (unimportant meetings I might add) over a 3 month period. I had several meeting a month so 4 is a minuscule number.i also noticed many excellent long time employees suddenly being terminated without and noticible cause, i assumed something happened that I don’t know about, but now it seems that their criteria for termination are full of petty misdemeanors while we see some employees doing terrible things without as much as a write up. With my own problems aside, something very sketchy has been happening between the RPS agents and corporate. About a year ago we started noticing that our customers were being serviced more times per year than their contract said, and often had complaints about it. Most customers never noticed and continued paying which is immoral at best and illegal at worst. When our team confronted our management about it, they went to the board only to be told on no uncertain terms that this is how we are doing things and if you don’t like it you can leave. Most of my coworkers were looking for a new job but it’s hard to be getting to work from home.
