Pros

Good for a contracting group. Some very talented people, sharp, friendly, helpful, with high professional standards. If you are junior or mid-level you will learn a lot. If you are senior to very senior, and don't want to go further, you can meet some nice colleagues.

Cons

Very little room to grow and even less to be promoted. C-suite wants to make money so while they continue to get bonuses, other salaries will stagnate. Understandable really because most fed space projects don't have the cushion to bill very senior people. It is not to Aquilent's advantage to promote you. Mid-level worker bees bring in the most money. The gap between bill rate in and salary paid out needs to be as wide as possible for best profit flow. Sadly, they are also pretty cheap with equipment and software. People have to use personal tools all the time.

Pros

I think Aquilent is a great company. Aquilent has been growing but it still feels like they care about the things that are important to me. Work/life balance, professional growth, operating with autonomy, achieving promotions, and working on meaningful programs are all priorities for me and it feels like they are also priorities of the organization. The benefits are great and the support from HR on these is outstanding. We have incredible events for the employees including a wonderful holiday party and a Wine and food festival called Taste of Aquilent. There are cutting edge, exciting technology projects at every turn and the work we do makes a difference in the world. The executive leadership is accessible up through the CEO. I have not been with another company where I have realistically had access to the CEO so that is refreshing. There are opportunities to move to different projects. Aquilent cares about what I want to do and not just what I can do. That is very important to me because I don’t want to stop evolving and growing and would not stay at a company that limits and discourages my growth. This a great place for me and one that I expect to continue to grow with.

Cons

The experience being at HQs in Laurel is different than on a customer site. We need to connect those of us that are not onsite at HQs in a better way.
