Pros

I can't think of any particular reason I would EVER recommend this place to anybody. It's awful.

Cons

The micromanaging CTO is a narcissist and absolutely refuses to listen to anything anybody says. When his ideas fail (and they almost always do) he'll blame the staff who tried to prevent take the correct path. I wouldn't hire him as a junior developer, let alone the CTO. Seriously the worst I've ever worked with.

Good People, Bad Middle Management

Pros

There are definitely a lot of good people that work here that will take the time to give you a hand if they can. They also do a decent job of exchanging knowledge.... when they know someone else needs it. Some nice perks when you are able to take advantage.

Cons

Most of the problems I have seen are that the people between the VP's and/or Account Directors and the people doing the work do a terrible job at both communication and management. Sometimes this is because they have to focus on doing billable work themselves and so basic management responsibilities fall off. Sometimes they are simply bad managers, but they happen to be friends with the right people so they keep getting promoted. People also will get assigned multiple project and I have seen people get allocated for up to 250% of their time. Instead of getting more resources to do the job right people are simply told to "work more hours". If you come to work here, spend more time making the right friends than doing a good job.

Pros

Great talented people work here on fun projects. Ethics are strictly held and followed. Unlike larger government contractors, if your contract ends, you will not immediately lose your job as Aquilent maintains a bench.

Cons

The CIO does not seem to be open to anyone else's ideas or opinions below the fifth floor. He is insulting to staff. If you are applying, make sure you ask for a salary that you will be happy to live with for a few years as raises are difficult to negotiate.
