Great Benefits, But Culture and Leadership Fall Short
Pros
Unlimited PTO, excellent and nearly unmatched benefits, guaranteed three day weekend, every month, causal office—not overly stiff or corporate.
Cons
Unorganized!! The rigid in-office policy feels outdated. Hybrid work is the standard at most forward-thinking companies, yet Arcellx continues to require on-site attendance. Multiple employees—including some C-suite leaders—have expressed frustration, but say little because the CEO lives nearby and seems to assume everyone else does too. While the office is well-stocked with snacks, if we’re expected to be in person, a lunch service or some kind of meaningful incentive would make a difference. Compared to other tech companies offering hybrid flexibility and real on-site perks like meals, Arcellx is falling behind. Favoritism is a real issue. The commercial team is given little to no flexibility to work from home but then again that is certain individuals get to work from home, some teams operates almost fully remotely—and continues to receive promotions (a whole team was just promoted) which is a indicator that you can still get your job done and be great WFH. The CEO rarely visits the Maryland office but invested heavily in office decor, only to mandate in-person work. A large number of employees consistently express dissatisfaction with this. Lastly, as time goes on, I continue to hear and see more employee dissatisfaction, work gossip, which is likely to lead to higher turnover.
