Thank you for sharing your perspective, your positives, and your concern about favoritism. We work hard to keep our benefits and PTO at an industry-leading level to support our exceptional team. We ask managers to propose promotions for their team members, and we review all proposed promotions against a consistent set of criteria (consistently exceptional performance, merit/need for role, and alignment with our values) to ensure fairness. It sounds like we could be doing a better job communicating the promotion criteria to the organization. Thanks for your input.

Pros

The company offers good benefits.

Cons

The company is top-heavy, with an overwhelming number of directors, heads, and VPs who don’t add much value. Many of these roles are redundant, which results in a bloated structure that slows decision-making. There is a high level of unnecessary bureaucracy for a company of this size. Individuals with little leadership experience are often promoted into these roles. This is because leadership often hires and elevates those who flatter and cater to their egos perpetuating a strong culture of favoritism with a dash of affinity bias. These inexperienced leaders offer little direction and lack a clear strategic vision. Employees are forced to scramble and adapt to their ever-changing whims, creating a environment of instability and confusion.
