Pros

I worked for 15 years in ArcelorMittal. I started when it was only Arcelor and noticed the difference when the merge with Mittal took place. Focusing on lean structure, health and safety, training and development of its employees with actions towards empowering and streamlining the strategy.

Cons

Besides being a global player in its core mkts still lots of divisions with different goals that many times generates conflicts among the divisions. Company still getting rid of bad assets and becoming more slim.

Pros

Decent financial benefits and health care. Fascinating process and equipment. Ability to learn a lot on the job and from others (co-workers etc)

Cons

Very dangerous working environment. If an employee is injured, the management tries to find a way to shirk responsibility and blame it on the injured employee if possible. Management will turn a blind eye to sexism, racism, corruption and any form of abuse in order to keep the machine running.
