Pros

Not much besides the people where amazing and they will hire you will no previous experience in mining operations.

Cons

Pay was terrible. Not a whole lotta room for going up. In winter when the plant shuld be shut down they would rather run the chance of breaking everthing then to just shut down for a few hours/days making a new batch of bs that managment would never pitch in with. In all honesty you are better off flipping burgers then coming here.

Pros

The people I work with are absolutely great to be around. The management team works together and helps each other out. Communication within the team is direct and honest, if something needs to be said it gets said, and then we move on. Everyone works hard but we know how to have fun too. The company sponsors fun events and activities throughout the year for everyone to take part in. I really enjoy working here.

Cons

I wouldn't call this a con especially if you are willing to relocate, but most of the advancement opportunities beyond plant level management are primarily based out of Dallas.

Pros

The first shift supervisor and plant manager are really good people. Annual reviews for raises, doesn't start at a bad hourly rate either.

Cons

The air quality is so bad, they dont even post the OSHA rating for public view. A result of that is you have to wear a pretty heavy welding hood and an annoying air supply pack. In the summer it gets very hot and humid in the shop making it even more uncomfortable and sometimes harder to breath. The health insurance here is beyond ridiculous. You might start out at a decent hourly rate but consider 4 dollars an hour of that gone straight to health insurance, and that's only for you, not your spouse or kids. It's a very dirty shop, granted they try to keep it clean but you will be grimey every day. It's a metal shop, so it's a little expected. Everything is a secret at this shop when it comes to management. Changes are abrupt and lately have been very aggravating because of the fact we're ill-prepared for the change, or it's just flat out harder than it should be. Aggravating enough to have totally killed morale and lately 90% of the workers are looking for new employment, and I cannot blame them, I'm in the same boat.
