Pros

-Patients are fun -Not a typical 9-5 job

Cons

- A typical dental office schedules 8-10 patients a day but you will be scheduled 2-3 times that amount. -The way they do the bonus system does NOT pay out as they tell you when interviewing. I think they say you can make $50 extra a day- THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE WITH HOW THEY CALCULUATE IT. -You will see patients while they lay in bed or are in a kitchen type chair or wheelchair. It is very hard on your body. There are no dental chairs. Use of knee pads is a good idea and get a good chiropractor, if you can find time to get to visit one. - Nursing homes pick you apart when they are actually just very ignorant of how the company works and dental in general. They will rate you poorly on the surveys that they receive. The surveys are part of how you get a bonus. Their problems with the company are usually with the corporate office and not you but you pay the price. - Management is rude to employees and even to the nursing homes. The nursing homes complain about management ALL THE TIME but yet wont tell corporate the issues they are facing and if you bring it up to management, they are full of excuses and defensive. They will tell you to take care of the issues... you know, because you have all the time in the world to do this while seeing that many patients. - You are constantly witnessing the patients being mistreated and it wears on you - Think of how corporate medical is ran... Got it? It's all about the numbers in the hospitals. That's the same with this company. - They put tons of pressure on you to pop out numbers because they are bad at retaining employees and scheduling. - They pay well below the IRS mileage reimbursement and the difference can't be changed - The company used to pay for a company vehicle and pay for all the gas. Now they don't, so employees make much less when it's all calculated out. - There is basically no help when you are in the nursing homes from staff because they are ran super thin already. Even though you are not licensed to transport staff, it will get put on you, which is actually illegal but once again, the company only cares about numbers and not you or the patient's well being. - You get no extra pay for becoming a public health hygienist, even though that's a higher standard placed on you with more strict guidelines from the dental board. What you get is more patients to see and many more notes to enter. - You will get threatening emails if you work overtime, but how can you not when you have to see patients in the double digits? - You will have to use your personal cell for all things work but you will not get reimbursed for any of it.

Thank you for providing your feedback. Our field teams are the heart and soul of what we do and help each resident with their unique needs. While we don’t have the luxury of the standard dental office, we still are able to provide compassionate and exceptional care to residents while allowing them to remain in their home environment. To help ease the travel requirements of our field positions, we have recently implemented a mileage reimbursement increase, in addition to our well-rounded compensation, benefits, PTO, and paid holiday policies. As a healthcare company providing care to a vulnerable population, we know the importance of legal compliance and ethics, and want to correct any issues as soon as we are aware of them. It is concerning to hear that you may have witnessed or experienced actions that you consider to be unlawful. We would like to speak to you further about this. Please reach out to a member of the Human Resources team so that we can discuss your concerns. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

I work with some pretty amazing people both in the office and our clinical field teams. The care we provide really makes a difference to lives of seniors in nursing homes. The work is hard but very rewarding!

Cons

The company is growing fast and we are always looking for process improvements and more clinical field workers. It takes a special heart to deliver care to this population.
