Pros

Easy, laid back, long breaks

Cons

Everything, the worst thing would be the structure and process. There is zero process and standards. Everything is self taught and self managed. Problems root from everything starting from sales down to production. Very old people work here, no young mind to share the wealth of better and more efficient ideas. Sales doesn’t start orders with a sales order to indicate items sold (units/kits). Planning does a terrible job, almost as if they’re still doing things in paper. Planning doesn’t know how to break a sales order into job orders that are tied to SO. Schedule dates for those jobs are not accurate, job masters aren’t even descriptive enough to indicate correct procedure. No one knows the ERP system… Buyer is a complete idiot who doesn’t know the product or how to purchase things. Everything outsourced is paid by service and not quoted. No description on PO. Only amount paid and qty. He really doesn’t know how to use the ERP system. Inventory is a joke which hired a bunch of warehouse people who don’t know how an OEM company works. They lose over $50k worth of product a year, with an increasing annual percentage. No plan for preventive measures. Constantly lose things and can’t track parts barely received hours ago. Engineering, is the biggest joke. Manager is not qualified, doesn’t like rules, standards or process. Has zero new product planning skills. Everyone does their own thing. All new designs are simply the same parts with minor adjustments. Have no ECO process and still use excel to do it. No one knows how to use pdm. Production consist of old people who don’t know how to use computers and are lazy. Runs the shop as if this company is still in the 1900’s. Culture that they brag about is just an unprofessional laid back culture. Rude jokes, terrible humor, and attitude.
