Pros

This place is so much fun that time just passes by and all you remember at the end of the day, week, month and year ... is the awesomeness you witnessed and you delivered. Well-paced ! No boring meetings. Emphasis is on quality of work and not the superficial gloss. Best of the industry engineers around to keep one highly motivated and inspired. You need not work to please some particular person. Performance review process keeps the engineer at the focal point. You can do all the good work and be sure that it will pay off. No borders of team, technology etc. One can change roles, work in different technologies. Engineers spend time on actual engineering. Auxiliary stuff, work flow tools etc. play their role perfectly with a combined objective of helping the engineer. Great tools written by smart engineers : the users themselves who know what they need from those tools. No micro management, engineers are trusted with their responsibilities. A open communication channel is maintained between the management and the engineers to improve work conditions, eliminate any hurdles etc. Good Work is duly recognized. Salary / hikes are not an issue.

Cons

Internal documentation needs to be centralized and improved.

Pros

By far, the most advanced / amazing software architecture and internal tools I've ever seen. Great culture, little management overhead, and a ton of really, really smart people. Lots of flexibility in changing projects, lots of opportunities for learning (from SDN to Linux kernel, to switching ASICs, to Networking protocols, to internal tools, you name it...). A total "engineering culture" (mottos "do the right thing" and "quality is more important than time to market" are not lip service here). If you like developing software, you'll really love it. (There's even a SW development office in San Francisco.)

Cons

Initial learning curves longer than usual (but you eventually get there..)
