Worst company to be

Pros

None. If you don't have an offer or can't get an offer from anywhere else only then join this company.

Cons

- Takes a lot of time to actually start contributing because of plethora of internal tools. Situation is soo worse that company have even created a new language which is a wrapper on C++. So if some one takes your interview in C/C++ then don't think that you will be working in any standard language. FYI: their language has no documentation. Its just a word of mouth. - Company/CTO is only focused on tools development and not on product. You won't find any innovative/challenging work. All good reviews for work are older. Now the product has stabilized or company is not focused. - No one talks about research papers or patents. Although there are parties if CISCO's hold on patent ends. You can think where you need to be. - If someone is telling you company gives a great increment then they are either lying through their teeth or may be they are getting good money because they are able to hire you cheap. Once you join forget about any increments. Company is on acquisitions spree. For employees at lower level the management only hand overs a sorry letter. Don't think company is doing well, beating all estimates means it will trickle down to employees. Company even rescinded offers of interns in summer 2020. So negotiate well because after joining you won't get anything.

Not working company

Business Outlook

Pros

- None so far - If you don't want to work, there is lot of people in the same boat

Cons

- Seniors in the company are relaxing after IPO. Most people with 4 years or more work experience at Arista don't have motivation because the company has not given salary hike. Good people are in the process of quitting or have already quit. - The internal performance review is just an eye wash. No transparency in the rating. - As a newcomer in the company your performance rating cannot be better than an existing employees and your managers will make sure that a newcomer will never get rated high - Directors in the company are becoming individual contributor to avoid confrontation with management. Sadly, they are too lazy or in some cases incapable of finding another job - In India Office, newly promoted managers are neither experienced enough to be managers nor are good leaders to lead the team. Promoted just based on how well they managed food at some internal company events

Pros

Nice building. Since they don't pay well they offer you free soda, water and snacks to keep you full while at work [can't afford to go downstairs to the cafe for lunch].

Cons

They pay their employees a bare-bones salary and tout the stock to use as income. The CEO micromanages everything in the company and everyone is afraid of her. No one there can think for themselves and HR is nonexistent. Their practices as a company are questionable at a minimum. Ask any former employee what it is like to work there.
