Pros

Pros - Lax dress code, good people working with you usually, and it's not a terrible job. Sure, we have our busy moments, but all in all, it's not that stressful for 7 months out of the year. You also get to meet pretty important people like Lucy Hawking (Stephen Hawking's daughter). Also, in my specific position, I have a fair amount of autonomy to get things done how I want and when I can.

Cons

I know Arizona is in a budget crisis, but downsizing the workforce and then expecting everyone else to pick up the slack without any type of raise is horrible. For the last 4 years, we haven't even received cost of living increases. My area of support used to have 26 people taking care of over 10,000 machines. Now, we have 8. For 4 years, I have maintained the only perfect customer rating in our group with one person, me. I don't know if I can continue providing excellent support for no salary increases or even opportunities to move up the food chain. Lately, the level of work has shot through the roof and I can't keep up - even when informing management of the problems I face.

Pros

Great facilities, decent benefits, casual atmosphere, highly motivated CEO, tuition reimbursement benefit for self and family members, central location to Phoenix, great college environment and nationally recognized sports programs.

Cons

Raises almost never happen, employee parking fee is expensive, fear of having HR address employee/management conflict (have seen employees dismissed when this occurs), slackers not put on improvement plans and salaries not comparable to other companies. Outsider comments about "the state" paying for everything at the universities, which is untrue. Many departments are self-funding.
