Pros

People in the industry are astonished that Arm is ~5,000 people given the impact the company has. And despite being 5,000 people, I think we've retained the buzz and culture we had when we were a fraction of that size. Arm is jam-packed with very smart people who are exceptionally motivated to do what is right for Arm's customers and colleagues are always helpful and supportive. Benefits are great and whilst salary was falling behind peers a couple of years back, recent corrections have made it competitive. On top of base salary, other cash benefits make the total package way more than I could get anywhere else.

Cons

Arm is a high-challenge environment, especially around technical ideas.

Pros

ARM has an open culture that is very refreshing if you've been in an organization like Intel where it is hard to get hold of the information you need to do your job. It is justly proud of what it has achieved from humble beginnings. Cambridge, as well as being a beautiful city to live in, is a place where almost everybody is intelligent, and ARM only takes the best, so you will be working with exciting people. For experienced staff, ARM pays well and offers a range of bonuses, in particular a substantial new starter bonus which you will get at the end of your first year at ARM. The takeover by Softbank has not affected the culture, all that has happened is that our horizons have been widened by the opportunities for new investment.

Cons

Don't be starstruck by being offered a position at such a great company - make sure that the position is one you really want. If you are an experienced individual and want to keep your technical skills going, make sure that this is not a management position that you are being offered.

No idea how to run a organization, No growth

Pros

- Co-workers are great - WFH options (least in my department) - Cafe while "subsidized" (not really at all) does have decent healthy options from time to time - Healthcare benefits are top tier as well as 401k and others - Culture

Cons

- Some of the departments have no idea how to run a successful project (yet claim it was a success). An attempt to introduce to technology or methods takes years and that is even if the idea doesn't get canned before then or simply abandoned in favor of engineers own creations. No global company standards for tech. - Cafe on-site but not subsidized, may as well go anywhere else as it will be cheaper/more value for your money - No snacks or drinks other than flavored la croix, goes back to the cafe where they want you to spend your money - Work life balance - Focus on policy and procedure comes from an overseas office where idea's seem skewed - Below average compensation for the work performed - No lateral movement within most departments seems everything is artificially locked behind a budget. If you are somehow promoted you will not receive the proper compensation nor title. - Can do awesome in your performance review however due to top level management still get denied raises or additional benefits.
