Nepotism/Unorganized

Pros

Unlimited Paid Time Off, Snacks, Opportunities for growth through training and LinkedIn Learning

Cons

Many of the projects worked on were extremely unorganized and not clearly communicated between teams. When these projects couldn’t be completed, it felt as if the fault landed on the engineers instead of the stakeholders’ lacks of communication and knowledge. Direct management was great but upper management communication was non-existent. There is also a lack of diversity among teams and leadership.

Pros

The company gives good benefits. I liked the gym in the building and the free lunches were cool.

Cons

I got sick and had to go to the hospital and asked my manager to cover and he said "thats on you". I never got to take a day off because this job is stressful and managers aren't trained well to be managers. Not a great company. Good for a few months, but no career growth either. Will force you out if you don't hit impossible metrics. Also zero work-life balance. Expected to be on call 24/7. Wake up check your email, get home check it, go to bed and wake up in the middle of the night to check it.

Not an employee-first organization

Pros

I was fortunate enough to work with some amazing people who are now good friends of mine. I cannot say working at Arrive was an experience I regret solely because I learned what I will not stand for in a company and how I do not want to me treated.

Cons

Leadership does not care about their employees, they only care about making money. Executives have referred to former employees as "dead bodies", which is quite appalling for such high-level professionals. Truthfully, many of the managers and senior managers at the company are not qualified to be in their positions. They lack the proper people skills such as empathy, compassion, ability to coach, and basic human decency. Unfortunately, this will be a continuous problem as future managers only have these current "leaders" to train them. Additionally, I have witnessed racism, homophobia, sexism, and ageism at this company time and time again. However, when members of leadership were found to be the perpetrator, they were never rightfully disciplined for their wrongdoings. They simply got a slap on the write while lower-level employees would almost always be terminated for less major violations. Furthermore, leadership was not trusted to convey important information such as company wide changes to employees. They failed to be transparent with employees and instead only told them what they liked to hear instead of sharing the negative details as well. This caused many employees to leave the company out of frustration with this lack of transparency and dishonesty. Leaders then were confused as to why the company had such a large turnover rate. However, when presented with multiple remedies for better change management by HR, leaders disregarded these suggestions and continued to act irresponsibly and irrationally. All in all, the main issue with Arrive is the leadership. As long as they fail to recognize the true value of their employees and continue to act in a manner that only benefits them, they will continue to lose good talent and god people. At Arrive, people climb the ladder through manipulation, lying, and selfishness. If you are an individual who is empathetic, compassionate, and understands right from wrong, this company is not the place for you.
