Pros

Pay is pretty good and benefits are as good as most Fortune 500's. I can't really think of anything else to include in "pro's"

Cons

I'm pretty disappointed in what I've experienced with Arrow. I've been treated fairly and my immediate management is pretty competent; but the company overall is disappointing. This is largely my fault. I should have done much more in depth research about Arrow, the competition, and future prospects for the company. I thought I was getting into a "technology company". Instead, I found an old-line warehousing and distribution company with a deteriorating business position.

Pros

The Denver offices have nice gyms and cafeterias. Some of the the people are great.

Cons

It’s been several months since I made the self care decision to leave Arrow. I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD from my time there. This place cares nothing for their technology workers. They have a model of employing people that are highly dependent on that job, whether it be for a visa, medical condition , single income household etc. They then abuse those employees non stop. Work life balance? What’s that? Oh? Going on vacation? Take your laptop and work half time but we’re putting you down as taking your vacation.. You better be ready to work nights and work ends on top of the weekdays, while being chastised for not getting enough done. And if you work 80 or 90 hours to actually get your workload done on time? Well, they just increase your workload. Also . This place seldom backflills. So, if you lose a team member be ready to pick up their responsibilities along with yours but not be given any opportunity to train or learn the new job, while being expected to perform as well as that person did along with your actual job. You find yourself completely drained. You don’t want to leave beauty you’ve made friends with your teammates. You know if you leave, they will have to do your job. You don’t want to do that to them. The kicker in all this? They bring you in with this song and dance about work life balance, great benefits and great bonus structure. In reality there is no work life balance, the benefits are terrible and expensive, the company always has some excuse to not pay out bonuses . If arrow were to pay me all the bonuses that they owe me, I could buy a brand new car. Too bad there is not a legal repercussions for companies that don’t pay out the bonuses that their employees earned.

Pros

They have a very nice gym

Cons

The model at Arrow ECS(IT) is to employ as many workers who are tied to their Visas as possible. You follow this approach to keep people in line. If you miss a Project date, you are in jeopardy of getting terminated and being sent back to your home country. In the years that I was there, I witnessed on 2 occasions where EMT's were called in, for individuals who were sick and should have stayed home. They came to work sick because they had project dates to keep. Also, they offer unlimited PTO, but you're always to busy to take any Vacation. The real reason for the unlimited PTO, is that Arrow doesn't have to pay you Vacation days when you leave or get laid off. Other points of contention... - Middle Management will dump all over their Employees so they can get ahead. If Middle Management does not follow this model, Upper Management will replace them. - Executives treat you like another number. They'll look at you like you're not even there. These Executive inspire no one. - The HR Department will do whatever Management tells them. I've seen an Employee speak out in an open forum, only to be ostracized and driven out of their position. HR did nothing to help this Employee. - There is no work/life balance but there is a lot of job stress. - There is a current push to move jobs to India and Mexico. They'll do anything to save a buck. - Constant threat of layoffs. - No formal training. Their idea of Training is to do a google search or pay for your own Certifications. If you're desperate for a job, take a position at Arrow ECS. If you have choices, do not choose Arrow ECS.
