Pros

Get your foot into industry.

Cons

Management doesn't care about your work load or life outside of your job. All they care about is whether you are committed to working whatever hours and weekends they drop on you. You can go from being promoted one year to having your productivity questioned the next. Human Resources has no backbone and gives bosses all the control. Stay away from this place. All the free lunches in the World do not change the fact that they don't care about you.

Pros

Good group of biologist and chemists

Cons

Over the years, quality of management continues to decline significantly. 1) Wasteful time with unproductive meetings 2) Favoritism 3) Adversarial & vindictive attitudes among certain management towards junior scientists 4) Illogical and of unsound mind science decisions compounded by dictatorial personalities. Change needed before too late.

Pros

Mission-driven biotech company with exciting science. Many bright, hardworking people at the individual contributor level. Great opportunities to work cross functionally with various teams and corporate functions.

Cons

Dysfunctional leadership dynamics driven by insecurity, favoritism and lack of accountability. A culture of triangulation and selective communication breeds distrust rather than collaboration Promotions are inconsistent and not based on merit, creating distrust and low morale, Feedback is weaponized, and psychological safety is lacking, especially for employees who think critically or advocate for themselves, High-performing employees are not supported and eventually pushed out or burned out. There's a performative emphasis on culture, but very little follow-through in practice.
