Pros

The people here are passionate about what they do, and managers are generally very supportive of young engineers' training needs. There is a good 'family' atmosphere and the culture and values of the company are positive. Projects are often one-off unique designs with interesting and complex technical problems. Wide variety of project work - not just building design - and it's relatively easy to move around inside the company to try working in different sectors as well as different offices around the world. Good benefits - healthcare, pension contribution and holiday is above average I think.

Cons

Salary is about average for the size and type of engineering company, but low compared to other industries that engineers could be competing within. Project work can be quite varied in terms of type of project and the stress level and so there can be some very good projects to work on but also some bad ones!

Pros

Great people and a company with good intentions overall. Fantastic connection to a very vast global network full of great, intelligent people who are keen to share knowledge. Really great team in the UK / Europe and Australia, with proper leadership. The Americas region however struggles, both commercially and with the ability to retain good people and competitive salaries. Very good benefits package for Americas healthcare and high employer contribution to 401k.

Cons

Very high turnover and a lot of burn out. Way too much off-loading onto junior or under-paid staff and a lot of blaming. They are extremely off-base on market salaries, they just cannot retain consistent competitive salary rates. I was very underpaid while here and took on the work of someone with twice my salary. Once you are in the company, it is extremely difficult to negotiate a raise or be promoted. The biggest problem I saw was a very unconscious bias towards promoting men over women. There is not enough emphasis on bringing in talented young women AND PAYING THEM APPROPRIATELY. I dont think it is necessarily conscious, just a product of a male-dominated company.
