There has been changes in the company over the past year and change is never easy. With this change came a few layoffs as the various business units fine tuned their needs and restructured their organizations. Absolutely no understanding of how software development works. Deadlines are put on teams that are strapped for people, without any ability to change scope or hire on within the timeframe of the project. Upper management gives directives that are vague enough to keep them covered, but specific enough that interesting solutions are rule out. It's an enormous game of three card monte, and management is genuinely shocked that anyone can see through their street-level theatrics.
