Pros

Monday-Friday, holidays off, good benefits package, opportunity for remote work.

Cons

Customer service has a disproportionate amount of work that should be delegated to internal teams, difficulties with internal teams being unsupportive/inaccurate, due to the nature of the industry questions rarely have a black and white correct answer which makes the job difficult, over time is often required for annual events such as ADP testing and 5500 filing. While you have quite a bit of PTO, actually taking it is incredibly stressful on the individual and teammates, resulting in "PTO" being used as "catch up days" where people still log on to catch up in their work so they don't waste the PTO.

Pros

Did just ok with acquisition of our company. Didn’t lay off anyone at the time I decided to get out before that happens.

Cons

Had to fight with acquisition team with our title/level demotions due to poor mapping of positions. Nobody ever talked to us before that decision was made. And surprise...demotions across the board! Benefits reduced greatly. Very large reductions in paid time off. Health plan was downright terrible if you’re someone with ongoing life long conditions under treatment. It will nearly bankrupt you. High deductible plans are cruel for employees with health conditions and creates terrible financial burdens. Just because it’s the new “gold standard” for corporations to save a buck doesn’t make it right and it speaks volumes to the corporate culture and what really matters. Company is obsessed with acquisitions and nothing else. This is so they can simply beef up their valuation before going public on the stock market this year. What this means to the employees is likely mass layoffs once integration hits a certain stage. They will need to maximize profits and minimize costs as they head into going public.
