Pros

Great products, they sell themselves. Great PTO and health insurance

Cons

Promotions are impossible to come by and even if you do get one the salary increase is peanuts. No work from home policy even in the midst of a blizzard. No fun perks. Outdated culture.

Pros

The medical plan, sick time and 3 weeks vacation is good. The 401K match is below average.

Cons

I have worked at Aspen for 4 years. They have hired a group to fix their image because they cannot keep employees for long. The Management doesn't approve vacations, even when no one else is on the vacation calendar because of coverage issues. There has been no room for growth. They state there teams are "lean and mean" and they really are. During this last snow storm, an email from the CEO went out that you can work from home if you coordinate it with your Manager but then your Manager does not approve it so you have to come in if you are a low level worker while other members of the Team can work from home. They have hired a team to help improve their image, and some of these positive posts must be written by them. Really, if you want to be stressed, get sick, and be constantly treated poorly, accept the job here. If not, you are better to look else where. I have had enough!

Pros

The pay rate for certain levels of jobs are quite good - even ahead of the norm - which is great.

Cons

The pay rate for lower level jobs are very low - the compensation gap between entry or lower level jobs and mid management or professional is too wide. They run the organization with archaic principles. They don't trust anyone in their organization - they don't value people as professionals. They preach that they are open to making changes to improve employee morale - but it's all talk and no action. Many executives lead by shaming their employees - no positive reinforcement - but tons of negative tongue lashings. There's no internal growth if you are interested in working in other organizations - because each organization will sabotage any efforts to "take" a good employee; even despite the employee's fit for the position, and desire for the change.
