Paranoid management, lack of cooperation between people and teams, knowledge is power even if only one person has it. Lack of mentoring employees.

Pros

nice colleagues..friendly and helpful. very little politics with only a few (maybe around 4 people) trouble-makers

Cons

a senior staff in singapore has the habits of gossiping about other people, talk about people dressing, tell others not 'to friend" another colleagues - childish behavior. petty maybe employment contract does not state the notice period during probation period thus it will be up to the HR and Line Manager's decision. no half-day leaves for Christmas Eve, New Year Eve and Chines New Year Eve (even though is it not compulsory) but many local MNC companies practice this Compensation so-so and based on the amount of traveling and hard-work - it could be well below-average. Sales staff does not has transport allowances - only claim per km basis. when been offered, asked the past 2 to 3 years increment as you might end up not getting any salary increment the following year for sales job, please asked how commission is being calculated and being payout. asked what happened when existing customer does not renew the contract as you might end up having a (-) negative sales figures even you have sales for that quarter. Getting commission might not as easy as being reflected. not allow to take annual leave on Mar, June, Sep and Dec - as it is the last month of the quarter especially these 4 months are school holiday periods and parents might want to take their children for a holiday or spend time with them. HR for APAC - not very helpful at times. At times seems like "please do not disturb me with such matters". If you ever disagreed with one of the HR staff and debated on an issues and asked alot of questions - be prepared for a "cold" and "biased" treatment. Tiger under a sheep skin if you know what I mean. Can provide verbal agreement/approval and later said not valid - so better asked for black & white. Also too quick in judging people. Do not help in addressing APAC employee concerns, problems as HR want to look good in front of HQ thus rather do not do anything. Only follow what HQ suggested and no own opinion - just a yes woman Management - too USA eccentric. Stubborn and does not listen to suggestion and opinions. Talk big and not action. Implement things and let it die naturally as not follow up and monitoring.
