Pros

Awesome people to work with, great locations, local management is great for the most part. always have room to advance in the company.

Cons

Crappy holiday pay, Upper management doesn't give a crap about their stores as long as they get paid. very "two faced" corporate management. If they were on fire I wouldn't cross the street to pee on them. They SUCK.

Pros

Associated Food Stores is a great company to work for and demonstrates that they care for their employees. They are open and transparent with their employees and always seem to be on the lookout for ways that they can not only make the work environment fun and enjoyable, but also so that they can provide meaningful benefits.

Cons

All companies have areas that they can improve. AFS, in my opinion struggles with dis-joined programs and practices. Departments are often surprised at new initiatives the company has decided to take without appropriate feedback from those involved and impacted.

Pros

Checks are on time. Great place if you're a part of the family of so called leaders. Good at underpaying people

Cons

Management is related to each other and only will listen to their own opinions. Employees will be bullied into submission or fired for having a different view point. They will lie to employees in order to manipulate them. The incentive pay program is designed to "fine" employees. The Team has been forced to pay for Management's mistakes with lower wages and higher benefit costs.
