Insane Amount of Time Off

Pros

You get 120 hours of PTO paid time off after 90 days!!! Please show what other job gives you that kind of PTO in your first year let alone after 90 days!! The work is hard but very rewarding and you will become very close with your team if you show up each day ready and willing to learn and actually work!!

Cons

Dealing with all types of situations without knowing in advance what they are. Your next phone call could be a homeowner that lost his or her house, kids, pets and belongings in a fire or storm. You literally have no idea what you are facing until you answer that next call. Prepare accordingly!

Pros

- People. The people are my favorite part about Assurant. I'm surrounded by incredible humans that constantly pick me up, have my back, help where they can, and are truly collaborative. - Passion. I love what I do and I consider myself an email nerd. It's refreshing to be on a team where everyone is so passionate about what they do and about making an impact. - Flexibility. I appreciate the freedom and ability to prioritize my own schedule and create my own pace. Doctors appointment? Sick kid? No problem. Work your schedule around it. It's truly a team I'm lucky to have found. - Benefits. The benefits are excellent. I am encouraged to take and use vacations (we get lectured if they see that too many of us aren't using enough of our days, haha!). Remote opportunities is very commonplace throughout the company, and I really appreciate the 401K and stock contributions as an employee, as well as a STIP bonus that occurs yearly.

Cons

- Resource shortage leads to bandwidth constraints. - A little of the 'old-school' mentality. I find we're often trying to convince groups to leverage email marketing and/or having to explain why we can't do certain things and email best practices. - There's an overall lack of understanding of the difficulty of email and the specialty in it. Because of that, we have quite a bit of rogue happenings.
