      Pros

      The best thing about Aston Carter was the transparency. The team fully knew how difficult the work was and did try to regularly acknowledge how hard recruiters worked. There were also a lot of celebrations of recruiters' accomplishments which did make you want to work harder.

      Cons

      The downsides of working at Aston Carter were almost everything else. As a recruiter you are overworked, underpaid, stressed about meeting deadlines, etc. The worst thing is that the company ranks every recruiter and expects you to consistently improve yourself and ranking. You can go into the system and see how every person in your "practice area" is ranked and how much money they brought in to the company. This created a pretty toxic environment that leads to burn-out. Management really does expect you to be 100% committed to the company and the "hustle culture." If that's appealling to you, it may not be so bad, but for myself, it was really difficult. I found myself incredibly stressed, unhappy, and unmotivated and left after one year when confronted by my manager about my committment level to the company after a few other people on our team left.
