Pros

AstroNova is really making some great improvements right now. The work can be hard, but it's centered on growth and in turn it creates opportunities for everyone willing to work for it.

Cons

With all of the transformations, there is a little uncertainty and an increased workload. It can sometimes be a little scary, but things are clearly moving in the right direction.

Pros

Middle management is great, with open door policy. Benefits are ok but could be better. Nice workers but a lot of work office politics

Cons

Not diverse!!! No women in management roles. Upper management running a good company into the ground. A true lack of communication good working people.

AstroNova, Inc. is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer and is committed to diversity in the workplace. So, it is very unfortunate when we come across posts like this that do not truly represent our core values and who we are as an organization. Historically, it has been difficult to recruit women in the manufacturing sector. A recent study by Deloitte indicated that only 28% of women considering a change in industry would consider the manufacturing sector as a choice for them. Another recent study by the Manufacturing Institute determined that while women represent nearly half (46.6%) of the total U.S. labor force, they only comprise a quarter (24.8%) of the durable goods manufacturing workforce. At AstroNova, we are very proud that women make up 30.5% of our U.S. workforce and 30% of our global workforce – and 10% of those women are in management positions. We are making strides every day to hire, develop and promote women in the workforce. Our recent partnership with Real Jobs Rhode Island accepted 4 candidates for a “new and emerging leader” development program and 3 of those four candidates are women. If you are looking for a manufacturing company that is truly focused on diversity in the workplace and creating opportunities for women, then come to AstroNova.

Pros

You'll work with some very good people and the company is doing financially well.

Cons

As I mentioned, one of the pros is that the company is that it's doing well, but that's because the CEO is all about strapping as few people as possible with about as much as will break them. I was one of those few and I left. This management style has set a general malaise over then entire company and made it a depressing place to work. I know there's a lot of openings with AstroNova right now and if I were you, I would keep looking.
