Pros

Astroscale is a leading company focusing on safe and sustainable development of space for the benefit of future generations.

Cons

Since the company is growing, internal policies, processes, and systems are still work in progress and some people may feel a bit overwhelmed.

Fine

Pros

Fast moving, flexible, education benefits, good culture, interesting technical problems

Cons

Uncertain career path. Because the software team is still growing, there's a startup culture here. This has pros, such as increased flexibility, opportunities for rapid growth, and room to innovate, but also cons, like less-defined processes, fewer resources, and potential workload fluctuations.

Pros

perks, oh, lovely perks biscuits, milk, oat milk, almond milk, fruits, cakes... filter coffee, espresso, instant, decaf? is that everything for your professional life? go for it.

Cons

Teams are disconnected. Not even their own information is reliable (in other words, they don't know what they do) Systems engineers are as much engineers as a year 11 student. The definition of dysfunctional. Management... really don't know where they got them. Some get things done... that's the problem, those above don't see how, you know. Disconnected direction living in their own planet. I really wonder if they excel at pretending everything is fine or excel in not seeing what is obvious. HR, special mention. Kind of KGB on one side, babysitting on the other as if we were school kids. Toxic culture hidden with a ton of sugary smiles. I don't discard they act as a tool to management to detect and get rid of discrepant voices. Basically, you can't voice anything here. Tools and processes, a joke, more like in a company with 1/20 of their budget. Why? Idk In short, a waste of money and resources keeping the show going, let's see the finances after the first launch, I give them like 5% chances of success. If you are mid-career or up, the UK branch is definitely a bad professional move. You will learn nothing, develop nothing, feel stress, get frustrated with everyone running in circles, wasting time, redoing things. There are plenty of alternatives, maybe not so flashy but with better content for a professional focused on their development. Don't get me wrong, there is probably no place without stress, making mistakes, going sometimes in circles, etc. but at least in a properly organized company you grow, learn and achieve things. If you are young, like <3 years in the industry, you can still benefit from a couple of years. You will learn, especially how not to do things, that is valuable.
